From Kate...

Have you ever wondered what having meals delivered to your door would be like? What about having easy, nutritious food delivered just after you've had a baby. Sounds too good to be true, right?

I recently had my third baby. Vann was born into a very calm birthing suite after a pretty easy 80 minute labour.  The calm however was not meant to last! After spending a lovely 3 nights in hospital lapping up all the newborn snuggles and food delivered to my room routinely everyday, I had to face the reality of home.

My 2 older boys are nearly 6 & just turned 3 ... and they are full on! So having lots of things organised before I came home was paramount if I was going to survive life as a Mum of 3 boys! Having a rest each day was never going to happen. Let alone a few weeks of just easing into life as a tribe of five. Oh no, it was go go go right from the minute I arrived home.

One of the best choices I made was organizing Dinner Twist boxes so that at least half the week of dinners was sorted and I knew I could easily pull together a tasty nutritious meal, no matter what the day threw at me! I want to share with you the positive impact Dinner Twist has had on our family of five, particularly as we welcomed our third little baby into the family.

Pre Pregnancy Deliveries

We had a few boxes delivered in the weeks leading up to my due date too! This was fantastic for those last few weeks of pregnancy when you’re feeling tired and niggly and just don’t want to play anymore!

Having Dinner Twist delivered meant that instead of wondering what was for dinner and then running around pulling together a meal, or worse, doing a last minute grocery shop, we were able to put the boys in the car, drive to the beach and watch the sunset, splash around in the water and enjoy our last few weeks as a family of 4. It might sound really cliched, but honestly, it was so amazing to have that time, and know that when we arrived home, dinner was only 20 minutes away.

Add on Your Fruit

One of the things I loved was that I was able to order a fruit box to ensure there was fruit for school lunches and snacks and I didn’t have to go to the shops!

Cooking Dinner with a Newborn Baby

Our first post baby box was delivered the day I came home from hospital (haha couldn’t have timed it any better), so I was able to cook an easy yet delicious meal for the whole family just a few days after having bubs. It felt so good to eat together as a family and even get the kids involved in the kitchen while our little poppet slept in his bassinet. (I'd also like to add that Dinner Twist is totally easy to prepare, so even if bubs was awake and needing a little attention, it was easy to pop him in his little rocker on the bench and whip up dinner with no fuss).

Dinner Twist worked so well this time because everything was delivered fresh to our door and we were able to prepare fresh, nutritious food that our kids actually like each night.

But Do Your Kids Eat the Food?

Now a question I get asked a lot is do your kids eat the food? And my answer is YES! And it actually surprised me but there are a few reasons they always eat our dinner twist meals:

- It’s exciting because they see the boxes arrive and get involved in unpacking them, looking at the recipe cards and having a say in which meal we eat first.

- Because I’m not stressed about what we are eating and who’s doing the shopping, I actually get the kids involved in helping me cook and they LOVE it!

Having Dinner Twist has had a really positive impact on our family - especially in getting our kids to try new foods! It’s meant that they now eat things like fish, sweet potato, pasta carbonara, zucchini - things I’ve been trying to get them to eat for years, but have never succeeded! Now they can’t wait to eat these things for dinner.

If you’ve been wanting to try Dinner Twist, but you’re hesitating because you feel that it wouldn’t suit a family with young kids, then I urge you to give it a go! I love the convenience of it (especially after just having our third baby), not to mention the positive impacts it’s had on our family life and our kids’ eating habits.

Big love, Kate xx
