There are many different ways you can use the Caesar salad kits!

Here is the method for how to make your classic salad as well as some fun extras you can add to switch it up. If you’re entertaining and need to serve a crowd, you can combine the chicken and the egg kit to make a larger portion. Make caesar salad rolls for a picnic or for a light canapé, transform the ingredients into fresh lettuce cups!

Included in the kits

Chicken Caesar salad
  • 600g Chicken Breast Fillet
  • 2 x sourdough rolls
  • 2-pack Baby Cos
  • 2 x avocados
  • 2 x tomatoes
  • 1 x caesar dressing
Egg Caesar salad
  • 6-pack free-range eggs
  • 2 x sourdough rolls
  • 2-pack Baby Cos
  • 2 x avocados
  • 2 x tomatoes
  • 1 x caesar dressing

The Classic Salad + Fun Extras

What you need (serves 2 to 6):
  • Caesar salad kit (chicken or egg)
From your pantry: dried herb of choice, oil, salt and pepper
Method:
  1. Chicken - Coat with 1 tsp dried herb of choice, oil, salt and pepper. Cook in a frypan over medium-high heat for 6-8 minutes each side or until cooked through. Eggs - Bring a medium saucepan of water to the boil. Add eggs and cook for 6-7 minutes. Cool under running cold water.
  2. Tear sourdough rolls into small chunks. Toss with olive oil, salt and pepper. Toast in a dry frypan over medium-high heat for 6-8 minutes until crunchy.
  3. Rinse and tear lettuce leaves. Slice or dice avocados and tomatoes. Set aside.
  4. Slice chicken/halve eggs and arrange among bowls with salad ingredients. Drizzle over caesar dressing to taste and top with croutons.
Fun extras
Add some crispy bacon, anchovies, olives or shaved parmesan cheese to your salad. Try processing the bread to make a crumb for the chicken or roasting some chickpeas for added protein!

The Caesar Roll

What you need:
  • Caesar salad kit (chicken or egg)
  • 2 sourdough rolls (in addition to those in the kit)
From your pantry: dried herb of choice, oil, salt and pepper
Method:
  1. Cut chicken into schnitzels. Coat with 1 tsp dried herb of choice, oil, salt and pepper. Cook in a frypan over medium-high heat for 3-4 minutes each side until cooked through.
  2. Rinse and tear lettuce leaves. Slice avocado (or mash using a fork) and tomatoes.
  3. Halve and toast rolls in oven for 5 minutes until crunchy.
  4. Fill rolls with salad and chicken (slice if needed). Finish with caesar dressing to taste.
Tips:
If you’re using eggs instead of chicken, simply boil them for 8 minutes until cooked through. Peel and mash with 1/4 cup of caesar dressing for a delicious filling!

Lettuce Cups

What you need:
  • Caesar salad kit (chicken or egg)
From your pantry: oil, salt and pepper, 1 garlic clove (optional)
Method:
  1. Chicken - Place chicken in a saucepan and cover with cold water. Bring to the boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes. Take off heat and leave to stand for 10 minutes. Remove chicken from poaching liquid and shred using two forks and toss with 1/3 cup caesar dressing until well combined. Eggs - Bring a medium saucepan of water to the boil. Add eggs and cook for 6-7 minutes. Cool under running cold water. Peel and mash the eggs with 1/3 cup caesar dressing using a fork.
  2. Separate and rinse lettuce leaves. Dice tomatoes and avocados. Set aside.
  3. Process bread rolls into a crumb (or save them for another day). Toast in a fry pan with olive oil, 1 crushed garlic clove, salt and pepper until golden and crispy. Remove from heat.
  4. Fill lettuce leaves with chicken/egg filling. Top with diced tomato, avocado and sprinkle with bread crumbs.
  5. Serve lettuce cups with remaining caesar dressing for dipping.
Tips:
You can add other spices to taste! For example, use a pinch of ground cinnamon, cloves or ginger.
